19th century sleigh bells. The leather strap hanging measures 21.5 inches long {as shown, would be longer if untied} and 2.25 inches wide. Contains 12 brass bells. One bell is missing. There is also one triangular, brass bell. The bells have worn to a beautiful patina. Some of the bells have beautiful embossing to the brass. The buckle on the strap contains rust and the strap itself has broken, so I have tied it together with a piece of vintage turquoise velvet ribbon. All of the antique bells with leather straps show wear and are somewhat stiff due to age and may be fraying. I did add a little all natural leather conditioner to preserve the leather better…I would suggest that you add more if you would like the leather to be more pliable. The bells make a beautiful sound. On this strand of sleigh bells, the leather is edged with a touch of red velvet, which is worn but so charming. Found in Provence. Free shipping.
