This pretty pattern was made by the famous French manufacturer Gien. They are ironstone and there are two different sizes available. The model is called ‘Biarritz’ which is a beautiful beach town on the southwest coast of France. The plates all have the Gien maker’s stamp on the bottom and “Porcelaine Opaque de Gien Biarritz.” Dessert plates measure 8.25 inches and the dinner plates measure 9 inches. The plates are all in good antique condition, with light crazing and minor wear to them. Two of the dessert plates and one of the dinner plates have a small chip on the underside of the rim.
